PostHeaderIcon An Update to Our Database is Here!

Happy Friday to all! I wanted to tell everyone of a great update that has been put into our Jobs Based From Home Database! For our database users there is now a section on the database for disabled workers. This section covers everything from financial assistance for disabled workers to employment searches, assistance, support and training for disabled workers. Needless to say this entire section, which is featured right at the top of our database, focuses on the assistance needed for people with disabilities to retain your freedom and be able to work from the comfort and safety of your own home

This is a unique and helpful way to ensure not only that we here at Jobs Based From Home are searching for newer advantages for everyone, but also providing caring and helpful services for all. To give you a glimpse of what is in this new update, we have information listed on pages and pages of our database, from governmental sites to websites that are specifically designed for people with disabilities to achieve the same work as any other person.

I do have to say, this section hits home for me. Being I became disabled after getting hurt at my previous job. I also have family members and friends who are disabled and can not work at normal jobs which makes it terribly hard for them to earn a living. I can say from my own experience as well as family and friends, that state or government assistance is not enough for the cost of living in today’s society. So having this information in our database is just the tip of the iceberg of what our database can do. Better yet you know it’s updated weekly? We have researchers who are constantly looking for even better options that can fit just about everyone for just about everything.

Remember to stop by the front page of JobsBasedFromHome.net and claim the freedom of working at home like I and so many others have, because to me it feels good to know I can still earn a living for my family.

PostHeaderIcon Office tips, tricks and advice

I got yet another great question the other day and thought I would share it with the rest of you here.

How hard is it to work at home?  What is your main key to success?

One of the biggest keys for anyone should be your work at home set up.  The main point being your computer area.  Where is it located?  Is it in your bedroom on a tiny little desk or in the living room near the tv?  I can completely understand these days if not everyone can have a separate room for their office so I wanted to share some pointers.

My Home office is in a new addition that had the purpose of being an in-law apartment.  When it no longer served that purpose (meaning when we had to move my grandmother out into a care facility as she could not be alone) we ended up creating a beautiful office complete with its own entrance for business purposes.  I would suggest anyone who has a spare room (maybe an extra bedroom) make this the quiet office space you will need.

Make sure you have a dedicated phone line, other than your main phone.  This could be a cell phone or land line.   Depending on what work you do you may need another for a fax machine as well.   Normally when getting a land line you have the option of call waiting.   If your doing sales on the phone this may get messy so check with what job your applying (if not starting your own business that is) and see what their requirements are.  I personally have a cell phone for business and a land line without call waiting or an answering service, as it is a back up for my main line.

Here is yet an even bigger pointer, space.    Now with your own office room it can be easy to consolidate space with shelves, an extra large desk in either a U shape, V shape or L shape, so you have more room for everything.   In a rapidly growing business, space is useful and needed to keep everything together and within reach.   If you have your office space in your bedroom I do suggest keeping it very neat and organized.   Having clothes on the floor or slippers laying around to trip over can lead missing work.

From this I segway onto distractions.   Normally these things are not present in a regular office environment so they should not be in your office either.   TV’s, game stations, gaming programs on your office computer (im guilty of this one considering my other broken down and now Im using my backup), having friends coming over or your personal cell phone.   These are avoidable distractions unlike some that are not.  Small children, family, pets, outside construction work – these are all things you can not control.  Plan wisely and make sure you plan ahead, this can save you headaches in the days to come.

Last but certainly not least is ergonomics.  Most people have heard this word before but for those who have not, ergonomics is ” the science of designing the job, equipment, and workplace to fit the worker” (Wikipedia).  This means the level of your desk to the size, shape and height of your chair.  If you are working on a couch that has no back support, you will end up being uncomfortable and that could affect your work in the end.

Most outside of the home jobs actually require you to take a course on this and have a specialist come and set your area up for you.  I’ve been through it and it makes all the difference.  You may even be able to use these on your business expenses at the end of the month. So keep this one in mind when your picking out your new computer chair.

Keep these in your mind when you are preparing yourself for a new work at home career.  A little advice goes a long way and can help you in the future keep yourself focused while your growing your business and working your way up that corporate work at home ladder!

Best yet,  did you know you can get this information in the ebook?    There is so much more information, including the database of over 3,000 jobs that get you on the fast track to your work at home career!

PostHeaderIcon Setting yourself up for success with the right tools

All of us would like to set ourselves up to become successful at everything we do. More importantly at our jobs. Working at home is a whole new “beast” as they say. There are a lot of questions that may be running through your mind when you decide that working out of the home is no longer an option (or maybe you just need a change of pace in life). Here are a few I have answered for you:

What are the perks to working at home?

That’s simple, saving money on a plethora of items such as gas, wear and tear on your car, buying lunches and work clothes, last but not least- the everyday commute to and from work. My commute consists of from my bed to the coffee pot then my office! You could also look at it from a green aspect, which is your cutting emissions by cutting travel, not burning up fuel and not buying too many office supplies, being online has great rewards.

How do you keep yourself motivated?

That’s a great question, after all I am at home with my tech goodies aka tv, game stations and the like. Well if you get to do what I do, you learn to block those things out. I have a separate work area from which I do all that needs doing. I even have my own low cost phone line. During times when I need an extra pick me up I tend to listen to nature music, otherwise if I pop in my favorite cd I may end up singing too much and not getting enough work done! It keeps me focused on what to do and when I should do it. There are a few unavoidable things such as your pet whining to go out and having to take care of yourself too. I am on the lucky side, I live in the country so there are not many distractions other than ones I purchase for myself.

Isn’t it lonely working at home?   Do you miss being around people?

Short answer to this one is: yes and no. Yes I miss being able to turn to my neighbor and have a short conversation, get a laugh out and have a laugh about my job. I am a social butterfly so when I worked outside the house I made plans with the other women at work. I even made a few really great friends that I still talk to.

Second part of that answer is no and let me elaborate a little. I have my phone, cell phone, my dog and the computer. I can instantly communicate with anyone in my company I need, for chatting purposes or professional ones. I have been given the chance to chat with many, and even visited our central location. I had the privilege to meet many of my fellow freelancers face to face and it was a great time plus a valuable learning experience. I am of the belief that life is what you make it, if your working at home and feel a bit lonely, get up and go somewhere. Where I live there is a beach about 20 minutes from my house, the mall is around the corner and heck my friends are a phone call away. These keep me motivated as well, to do a great job with my projects and be a better person by keeping family close at home.

I hope this gives you some insight as to why I love doing what I do. I hope to hear more from other at home workers and what makes their life better as well. Remember if you have any questions, let me know I will gladly answer them in this blog as well as the forum. I hope to hear from you all soon!

PostHeaderIcon Sneak Peek into Jobs Based From Home!

I get a lot of questions about “What is the force behind Jobs Based From Home?” Why should I pay for this information? Will this help me start a business? What is it that I get from Jobs Based From Home? Well let me give you a peek into all that is Jobs Based From Home…

Jobs Based From Home is a group of dedicated men and women who came together to give you expert information how to work from home. Why does this differ from the information you can search for on the internet? Because these are people who all work together, who have all been through the rough times to get where they are today. This is much MUCH different than finding a small webpage filled with a few experiences working from home, this is a database with all the information you will ever need to begin and become successful working from home. Believe me when I say its tough finding a job on your own let alone one from home, I would know it took me almost a year to find a work at home job that didn’t try to scam me out of money and time.

Because of the time, work and huge effort everyone has done for Jobs Based From Home, I will give you a peek into what the book will offer you:

In the beginning of the book you get expert advice on who we are here at Jobs Based From Home and how to make the decision on jumping from the 9 to 5 mundane workforce to the professional pajama workforce! You will get expert tips on if working at home is right for you because believe it or not it is a huge decision. Also included in the book are chapters on other important factors of working from home including: How to get a better paycheck, How to deal with clients successfully, What happens when you don’t receive pay for work completed, how to balance life with work when you work from home etc. There are many more chapters in this book that will lead you to finding your success as a work at home freelancer and business owner. Remember it never hurts to take a look at something, better yet search this site and look through what it is we have to offer you. Make the leap from working outside your home to saving money on clothes, gas and time with your family by working AT home and notice the freedome and change it will bring to your life!

PostHeaderIcon Be successful in the long term…

In today’s online world, most of the people I have had the chance to speak to about working from home consider it the next move in big business. While numerous lay-offs are announced on news stations everyday, more and more people are searching for ways on how to make extra cash online. There are scores of ways to do this of course, but my advice is look for a job before finding extra ways to make money which is what Jobs Based From Home is about.

You will find ways to make money fast, but only if you win the lottery or fall victim to a scam. What you will find here are the tools needed to become a successful freelancer in either a job position or making your own home based business. It takes hard work and dedication to get were you want to go, just ask sports stars and Donald trump, they didn’t get there overnight. But with the Jobs Based From Home book, forum and chatroom and the direction this blog gives you all combined together, you just may find your own nest egg or even eggs.

I’m encouraging everyone who comes across this blog to check out the links on the bottom left hand corner of this page. They will take you to other parts of the site where you will find a database of information on how to start and become successful working from home. There is information on everything from how to be a fulltime parent while working at home to organizing your office to maximize your success. So don’t hesitate on learning how to join the work at home workforce, more and more people are making the switch now more than ever, so why not join them?
